High on the northern shore of Ireland, the medieval castle Danglus is sitting on the basalt cliff. In bad weather and at dusk, dilapidated towers, teeth and walls look frightening, and it is good to imagine what bloody battles once happened here.
Such an association, apparently, also had the creators of the popular series “Game of Thrones”, who considered ruins an excellent place for filming. After digital processing, they turned into a moss castle of Pike, the property of the Graijoy house. He stands on a rocky island, and the adamant Lord Baylon Grajoy lives in it.
This is far from the only place in the historical county of anthrim, where scenes from the series were shot. The Irish landscape with the ruins of locks, ancient stone circles and the cliffs outstanding in the sea perfectly suited for fantasy. In turn, the series aroused interest in the region, and in recent years the number of tourists here is constantly increasing.
As the study of the Tripadvisor tourist portal showed, the number of search queries with the words “County of Antrim” increased by 65 % in one year. Users seek information about him much more often than about any other region of Great Britain. Moreover, not only foreigners are interested in them, but also local travelers.
