Slovakia is one of the few countries in Europe where a careful attitude to traditions is still stored. This is a country with high culture, its inhabitants are not indifferent to national clothing, kitchen and music. Here, young people respect folk crafts, and the most valuable samples of local architecture are transported to museums and are protected by the state.
Locals are distinguished by good nature and hospitality. Many of them are believers Catholics, but there are also Protestants, evangelists and Orthodox. Along with this, the people love their customs, which have survived to this day. So, for example, grandiose medieval knightly tournaments are held annually in the castle of the Spishi city – bright spectacles with the participation of riders in knightly armor and trumpeting heralds.
Festive festivities and festivals are often arranged. On such days, not only modern music is heard, but also traditional national instruments: Fujara – large flute; Konkovka – shepherd’s horn; Gajdi is a bagpipe.
Events are accompanied by round dances, temperamental dances and lyrical songs in which folk avengers are sung. To everything else, the Slovak people are characterized by a careful attitude to the nature of their region.
