The Church of Nicholas Nadein was consecrated in honor of Nicholas the Wonderworker, and its second name comes from the nickname of the philanthropist of the hope – the merchant Svetashnikov, who financed the construction. The construction of the church was completed in 1622., and she is the first stone of the Posad Church of Yaroslavl. The Church of Nicholas Nadein was built in the traditions of early Yaroslavl architecture, from which at the beginning of the XVII in. architects have already begun to leave. This is a fairly simple single -dimensional church, painted in the main Byzantine colors.
A little later, a bell tower was erected with the traditional tent dome for Yaroslavl. You will need to book a hotel in advance to visit this place. A century later, especially for the church, a magnificent Baroque iconostasis was performed, a sketch for which theater leader Fedor Volkov, founder of the first Russian theater, created a sketch for local legend.
The temple in the history of its existence was experienced by many restructures and restorations, and its appearance, unfortunately, is very different from the original. But it was possible to maintain the magnificence of the interior.
