Paraguay is located in South America, has no access to the sea. The capital of Paraguay is the city of Asunsion. The primordial population of the country was the Indians of the Guarani tribe. In the 16th century, Paraguay became the Spanish colony and remained so until the declaration of independence in 1811. Currently, Paraguay is a republic, administration in the country is carried out by the president, the legislative power belongs to the parliament. Geographically the territory of the country is divided into two zones of the Paraguay river. A deserted area with poor nature and a small number of population is the west of the river, to the east – fertile land overgrown with forests, where the main part of the inhabitants of the state lives. Paraguay economy is based on agriculture. The main product of agricultural exports is soy. Sugar reed, cotton, corn and other crops are also being cultivated. Paraguay is one of the smallest countries of the world and Latin America. It has its own industry – it is mainly food and textile production, the generation of electricity at the hydroelectric power station. The overwhelming part of the Paraguay population is made up – the descendants of the Indians and Spanish immigrants. Two official languages ​​are recognized in the country – Spanish and Guarani.
