Fujiyama always attracts those who love wild pristine nature. This is the highest peak of Japan, located on the Japanese Island of Hongs. It is a dormant volcano with a height of more than three thousand meters and located one hundred and fifty kilometers from Tokyo. The volcano is included in the natural-reserve complex: National Park Fuji-Hocom-Wizza.
In clear weather, the mountain can be seen from almost anywhere in the island, but it is believed that the very beautiful panorama opens from the side of the ocean coast. Fujiyama became a symbol of Japan and a model of natural harmony, as well as a symbol of the connection of the modern world and traditions adopted by the Japanese people.
The origin of the name is still not established. The translation of this word is “fire”, so the name is most likely connected with the volcano located there.
According to legend, the mountain grew up in one night and therefore took a leading place in the so -called “mountain culture” in Japan.
Today on the mountain is a meteorological station and a temple of Shintoists. You can climb it from July 1 to thirty -first August. Moreover, not pilgrims, but tourist groups are already rising there. All kinds of amenities are built for them and the path to the top is lightly facilitated.
